Emily Engman, MSW, LISW
Emily provides office and home-based therapy to families and children experiencing emotional, behavioral and family systems challenges. She utilizes TBRI (Trust Based Relational Interventions) and NMT (Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics) methods. Emily considers each individual in the context of their environment, to ensure that she is providing the best possible course of treatment.
Emily's career started in public child welfare in 2008. She began serving families and children, involved in the foster care system, as well as serving as a forensic interviewer for The Children’s Advocacy Center. Emily and her husband served as therapeutic parents in Chelsea, Maine; working with children experiencing significant behavioral and mental health challenges. In 2013, Emily used this experience to transition to training, licensing, and provision of services to foster and adoptive parents in the Northeast Ohio area. She joins Chrysalis with more than ten years of professional experience in direct practice with children and families.
Inspired by her work experiences, Emily and her husband became foster and adoptive parents in 2010, with a desire to foster sibling groups to keep them together. Since that time, they have adopted three children and have fostered more than thirty children in their home. Her personal and professional experience has enhanced Emily’s ability to relate to families. She provides a positive approach to therapy that encourages families to connect with their children, even in crisis.
